HEIC to PNG Converter
When a HEIC photo needs to go into an editor, PNG gives you a lossless file that opens everywhere.
Drop files here, or browse your device.
The HEIC decoder is about a megabyte and downloads the first time you convert. It runs locally in this tab.
Three steps
How to convert HEIC to PNG
No sign-up, no watermark, no upload.
Add your HEIC files
Drag them onto the panel or browse your device. Up to eight files can be staged at once, and nothing is uploaded — the files stay in this tab.
Convert to PNG
The HEIC decoder is loaded on this page only, and runs locally. The work happens on your own device, so there is no queue, no server round trip and no account to create.
Save the PNG
A single file downloads automatically; a batch gives you a Save all button so your browser does not block the burst of downloads. The original HEIC file is left untouched.
Common questions
HEIC to PNG questions
Should I pick PNG or JPG for a HEIC photo?
JPG if the photo is going to a website, an upload form or an email — it will be far smaller. PNG if the image is heading into an editor for further work and you want no additional compression.
How large will the PNG be?
Expect several times the size of the original HEIC. A 2 MB iPhone photo commonly becomes 8 to 15 MB as a lossless PNG. The original HEIC file is left untouched either way.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The HEIF decoder is downloaded once as WebAssembly and runs inside this tab. Your image data is never transmitted.
Can I convert a whole batch?
Yes — up to eight HEIC files at a time. Large batches take a moment because the decoder runs on your device rather than a server.
